Patriot Prayer and Proud Boys met by hundreds of counter-protesters in Portland

Protesters numbering at least 500 have shown up in Portland, Oregon today to counter a rally being held by far-right groups Patriot Prayer and the Proud Boys.

Black bloc protesters, along with a marching band, arrived near the rally site at Tom McCall Waterfront Park carrying a sign that read “GTFO Ya Jabronis.” Elsewhere, a black-clothed protestor carried loudspeakers playing Public Enemy’s “Fight The Power.”

The antifascist protestors outnumbered members of the Proud Boys, an SPLC-designated hate group, and Patriot Prayer, the far-right group led by U.S. Senate candidate Joey Gibson.

An estimated 150 people with Patriot Prayer could be seen marching through the park along a bike path. Gibson said he expected another 200 to show up.
