These incidents include only a fraction of the approximately 260,000 reported and unreported hate crimes that a 2013 government study estimated occur annually.
Seven black teens, ages 13 to 16, allegedly made racial comments and attacked a 15-year-old Latino boy who was walking home from school. The teens were arrested on suspicion of assault and committing a hate crime.
