What you need to know about Florida’s new, harmful anti-immigrant law

Florida’s anti-immigrant law, also known as SB 1718, is an extensive law signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis. It covers a wide range of policy areas, each sharing the common thread of targeting immigrants in Florida. Since most of the law went into effect on July 1, 2023, it has caused fear and confusion among immigrant families, health care professionals, employers, law enforcement and many others.
