SPLC statement on appeals court ruling that blocks Trump’s efforts to end DACA
We are delighted that the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals recognized that Trump’s efforts to block the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program would cause irreparable harm to some 700,000 young “Dreamers.”
This is just one of a long list of actions that the Trump administration has taken to push his white nationalist agenda – including separating families, banning Muslims, blocking asylum seekers, and, possibly, banning Latinos.
Our country is fortunate to have an independent federal judiciary that is willing to prevent Trump from abusing his executive powers.
